Shadowing and volunteering
You may choose to shadow providers in your home community during academic breaks. Ames is home to Mary Greeley Medical Center and McFarland Clinic. Both are easily accessible via our free-to-students CyRide bus system. Iowa State is also close to Des Moines and its many major medical providers and specialists, including the Blank Children’s Hospital.
